Nursery School Ministry
Our Philosophy
The Zion Christian Nursery School is a church sponsored Cooperative Nursery School and serves a unique purpose within the community. The parents are involved in all aspects of the operation of the school. The program is a child development centered program rather than an academically focused. The staff will provide your child with age appropriate experiences, which help the child develop a sense of self worth, an appreciation of the uniqueness of others, an understanding of responsibilities in a group, and an appreciation for the world around him/her. Children come together in an atmosphere of acceptance and caring, which encourages sharing, creativity and respect for others.
Goals and Objectives
These goals are incorporated into our lesson plans:
Class Offerings
A positive learning environment in which children can develop creativity, communication skills, physical coordination, cognitive skills, gross and fine skills, and visual and auditory discrimination.
Promotion of the individual child and his or her self-image in a safe, positive, stimulating nursery school program.
Encouragement of emotional security for each child and parent as it relates to school setting along with the opportunity to interact with his or her peers and teachers.
Encourage each child to play and work well independently and in groups.
Fostering self-reliance in the child and focusing on socially acceptable behaviors.
Providing age appropriate expectations for parents and preschool children.
With God at our center and parents as our partners, we will nurture the total child emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
