Our May Book Club selection is The Sun Does Shine by Anthony Ray Hinton .

“The Sun Does Shine” is an extraordinary testament to the power of hope sustained through the darkest times. Destined to be a classic memoir of wrongful imprisonment and freedom won, Hinton’s memoir tells his dramatic thirty-year journey and shows how you can take away a man’s freedom, but you can’t take away his imagination, humor, or joy.

Books are available in the Gathering Place for $10.

Our next Book Club Meeting is Monday, May 20th at 7:00PM

Zion Book Club

There is no membership and all are welcome!  Zion Book Club meets the forth Monday each month nights in “The Gathering Place” (our church hall).  The group discusses the current selection, then chooses the next book to read.

All Are Welcome

People are welcome to join us even if they did not finish the reading of the book or have not read it at all, but just have an interest in what we are doing.  We are always open to book selection suggestions.  We have read novels, historical novels, Christian fiction, etc.  There is no one theme or topic.

The Process

Once the group decides on a book title, a small number of books are purchased through our office.  Books are placed in the Gathering Place along with small envelopes for payment.  The envelope/money can be  placed in the SCRIP box outside of the Parish Administrator’s office, or given to the Parish Administrator directly.  Books can also be purchased individually or borrowed from a local library.

If you have any questions, please contact the office at (860) 628-5759 or  office@zionlutheranct.org
