Hammonasset Camp Out Registration
June 30, 2009
The deadline for this year’s Youth Hammonasset campout is JULY 15. If you are in grades 8-12 and would like to attend, or you’re an adult and would like to chaperone, please call the office at 682-5759 for a form. The registration fee has been reduced this year to $35. We must receive your form and registration fee by July 14 in order for our registration packet to be postmarked by the 15th, ensuring our spot. Please call the office if you have any questions.
Congregational Meeting
June 25, 2009
Zion’s annual congregational meeting will be held on July 12, 2009 following the 9 a.m. worship service. We encourage all members to attend as we’ll be finalizing our 2009-2010 budget and voting on new council members.

Abigail Debner’s Graduation Celebration

Pastor and Barbara Debner invite the whole congregation to join with us in celebrating Abigail’s graduation from high school and to wish her well as she continues her education at Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio. Everyone is invited to join us on June 27, Saturday, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the church basement for a reception in her honor. You have been Abigail’s family for the past 15 years and our celebration would be incomplete without you. We hope everyone will be able to join our celebration.
Summer Schedule In Effect

Summer worship times are Saturdays at 4 p.m. and Sundays at 9 a.m.
Office hours are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon.
We’ll resume our regular worship & office schedule on Saturday, September 12. Worship times will be Saturdays at 4 p.m. and Sundays at 8 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. Office hours will be Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
ELCA Video Contest

The ELCA has announced a video contest which runs from June 15 – July 15, 2009. For all the details, click on the video at the top right of our homepage. Tell the ELCA about a ministry here at Zion that excites you! Tell a story that inspires others! You can enter your video at www.elca.org/videocontest.
First prize is a $5,000 ministry grant for an ELCA congregation and a $2,500 cash prize for the individual. Second prize is a video camera for the congregation and a video camera for the individual. Good luck!

Southington Housing Authority Accepts Applications

The Southington Housing Authority will have applications available June 15 for rental of efficiency and one-bedroom apartemtns for elderly/disabled persons. Submit your applications in person or via US mail during the month of JULY ONLY.
Applicants must be 62 years or older, or be determined disabled under social security. Income limits apply.
Application forms will be available at the Housing Authority 43 Academy Street, Town Clerk’s office, Calendar Hous, Southington Public Library, Southington Community Services office, and online at www.southington.org.
